Complete technology for synthesizing 1,3-propanediol by propylene method

At present, the bio-based production of 1,3-propanediol (1,3-PDO) suffers from limited scale and high production costs, while chemical routes present significant technical barriers, which severely restrict the development of the polytrimethylene terephthalate (PTT) industry. The propylene-based 1,3-PDO production technology has been developed precisely to address these challenges.

This includes the innovative development of coated oxidation catalysts, solid acid hydration catalysts, low-temperature liquid-phase hydrogenation catalysts, and key core equipment. The process employs fixed-bed reactors under atmospheric pressure for low-temperature hydration and medium-pressure for low-temperature hydrogenation. It operates continuously and efficiently with inherent safety.

The use of advanced catalytic materials ensures high raw material conversion rates and high selectivity for the target product in each reaction step, improving the overall atom economy and ensuring high yields of 1,3-PDO.

Water is used as the solvent and is recycled within the process, achieving near-zero wastewater discharge and enabling continuous low-energy-consumption production.
